Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

Empowered Podcasting, LLC is committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, inclusive, and professional environment for everyone who participates in our events and community.

We expect all attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, contractors, staff members, guests, and other participants to help create an experience where people can connect, learn, share ideas, and conduct business safely and respectfully.

Where This Code Applies

This Code of Conduct applies to all Empowered Podcasting activities, including:

  • Conference sessions, workshops, panels, and presentations
  • Networking events, meals, receptions, and social gatherings
  • Sponsor booths and exhibitor areas
  • Livestreams, virtual meetings, and online community spaces
  • Official off-site activities
  • Event-related communication through email, messaging platforms, and social media

Expected Conduct

All participants are expected to:

  • Treat others with professionalism, courtesy, and respect
  • Respect personal boundaries
  • Communicate disagreements constructively
  • Follow reasonable instructions from event staff, venue staff, and security
  • Respect the privacy, property, and intellectual property of others
  • Ask permission before photographing, recording, or sharing private conversations
  • Respect a person’s decision not to participate in a conversation, photograph, recording, sales pitch, or physical interaction
  • Conduct marketing, recruiting, and sales activities honestly and professionally
  • Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment

Unacceptable Conduct

Unacceptable conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • Harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, or stalking
  • Derogatory comments related to race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, veteran status, physical appearance, or other personal characteristics
  • Sexual harassment, unwanted sexual attention, inappropriate touching, or sexually suggestive comments
  • Threats, physical aggression, or violence
  • Repeated unwanted contact after someone has asked for it to stop
  • Personal attacks, verbal abuse, humiliation, or deliberately hostile behavior
  • Unwanted photography, video recording, or audio recording
  • Deliberate disruption of sessions, presentations, networking activities, or event operations
  • Excessive intoxication that creates an unsafe or disruptive environment
  • Damage to event, venue, sponsor, exhibitor, or attendee property
  • Fraudulent, deceptive, or aggressively coercive promotional practices
  • Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern or participates in an investigation

Sponsor, Speaker, and Exhibitor Conduct

Sponsors, speakers, exhibitors, vendors, and their representatives must follow this Code of Conduct during all presentations, booth activities, demonstrations, promotions, and interactions with participants.

Empowered Podcasting may require the removal or modification of materials, displays, presentations, or activities that conflict with this policy.

Reporting a Concern

Anyone who experiences or witnesses conduct that may violate this policy should report it as soon as reasonably possible.

Reports may be made:

  • In person to an Empowered Podcasting organizer or designated staff member
  • By email at [email protected]

Please share as much information as you feel comfortable providing, including what happened, where it occurred, who was involved, and whether immediate assistance is needed.

Empowered Podcasting will handle reports as discreetly as reasonably possible. Information may need to be shared with event staff, venue personnel, security, legal counsel, or law enforcement when necessary to investigate a concern or protect participants.

Anyone facing an immediate safety threat should contact venue security or call 911.

Enforcement

Empowered Podcasting may take any action it reasonably considers appropriate after receiving a report or observing a possible violation.

Actions may include:

  • A verbal or written warning
  • Requiring the conduct to stop
  • Removing someone from a session or event activity
  • Restricting sponsor, exhibitor, or attendee privileges
  • Closing or relocating a booth
  • Revoking event credentials
  • Removing someone from the event without a refund
  • Restricting participation in future Empowered Podcasting events
  • Contacting venue security or law enforcement

Participants are expected to comply immediately with instructions from Empowered Podcasting organizers, staff members, venue personnel, or security.

No Retaliation

Retaliation against anyone who makes a good-faith report, supports another participant, provides information, or participates in a review is prohibited.

Knowingly making a false or malicious report may also result in action.

Agreement to Follow This Code

By registering for, attending, sponsoring, speaking at, exhibiting at, volunteering for, working at, or otherwise participating in an Empowered Podcasting event, participants agree to follow this Code of Conduct.

Empowered Podcasting reserves the right to update this policy as needed.
